Next, considering the size of the rug in relation to the washing machine is crucial. A small washing machine will not accommodate a large rug, so the washing process for a large rug is dependent on the washing machine's size. Only the largest drum sizes can fit rugs of 8’x10’ and up, for example. 

Stain removal is another consideration before washing your Ruggable rug. For stain removal, we recommend blotting the mark with a mixture of mild detergent and water before washing or allowing it to air dry.

How to Wash a Large Rug

If your rug is too large for your washing machine, you’ll need to wash in a large drum machine at your nearest laundromat, or hand wash your rug. 

To hand wash a large rug, first, vacuum both sides of the rug to remove loose dirt. In a tub or bathtub, dissolve detergent in lukewarm water, submerge the rug, and let it soak. Work up a foam with a sponge or soft brush, then rinse until the water is clear. Finally, let the rug dry completely before placing it back on the floor.

How to Dry a Rug After Washing

When washing your Ruggable rug, it is advised to dry it on low heat, if it fits in your dryer, or allow it to air-dry, laid flat.
